The 2025 farmers market season officially kicked off on Mother’s Day at the Parker Farmers Market—and what a launch it was. Sunny skies, warm temps, and a steady crowd made it an unforgettable day for Erik “the Blade” Sharpener.

In total, 38 customers brought me 138 items to sharpen, ranging from kitchen knives and Japanese blades to garden tools, pocket knives, and even a few lawnmower blades. That’s what I call a full-service day.

A huge thank you goes out to my bride, Beverly, who joined me at the booth and took care of all the admin work, letting me stay focused on what I do best—restoring edges and helping people slice and prep with confidence.

The response was overwhelming. I started sharpening around 7:30 a.m. (before the official 8:00 market start), and it was non-stop until closing. Customers loved the convenience, the speed, and the craftsmanship. And if you’ve ever tried cutting a tomato with a dull blade, you already know—sharp knives are not a luxury, they’re a necessity.

This was just the beginning. Parker is one of four markets I’ll be doing weekly this season, alongside the Backyard Market in Black Forest, Briargate Market, and the Woodland Park Market.
